| Soie Coquine was originally founded in Paris, France, in December
1989 by its 2 cofounders Karl Strepkoff and Cyril Van Coppenole. The basis for
the company name was derived from the initials of the family names of its cofounders. “S” and “C” were
then used to develop the name “Soie Coquine”. |

|
 |
| At the beginning of its history, Soie Coquine
was dealing with silk accessories made in Thailand (“Soie Coquine” is
French for “Teasing Silk”). Accessories including jewelry boxes,
flowers, picture frames, cosmetic pouches, eyeglass cases, etc., were sold to
retailers and department stores. |

 |
| From the beginning, Soie Coquine was sending
a large share of its products to Japan. The Japanese market was indeed representing
around 40% of the total turnover. Year after year, that turnover grew and promotional
campaigns using Soie Coquine goods were added to the regular retail business. |

In September 1996, Soie Coquine opened its Japanese
office in Tokyo. Yukika Cristina Kusama joined Karl Strepkoff and both serve
as shareholders of the new Japanese entity. Initially, Soie Coquine Japan was
handling the same product range as in France, but soon launched a new line of
fashion accessories using the brand name “Karla Lolita”.

 |
| After several years, realizing that huge opportunities
were available in the promotional field, Soie Coquine Japan abandoned the former
activities of the company in order to focus completely on promotional marketing.
Today, Soie Coquine’s client list includes Coca-Cola, Nestlé, Avon,
The Disney Store, etc. and it appears that this is just the beginning of a long
story. |
